Learn About Glass Blowing at GBP

     From the moment I saw glass blowing I knew that I wanted to do it. I would sit at the school glass shop and watch other students forming molten glass on the end of a steel pipe and I was blown away by the way it moves like honey and glows bright yellow like the sun. Who could resist its allure?

In 1998, I built my own glass blowing shop with the help of my friend and collegue Chris Topher and Dave Learn. Later in 2008 Tina Haldiman became an essential member of our group. We had no formal training but in time we mastered how to manipulate the oozing hot material. Since 1998 we have created and honed our skills as artists.

We call our artwork "Clevetion Glass" which is the opposite of the dainty and fragile Venetion Glass from Italy. Our work is industrial and clunky, kind of like the way we see Cleveland -tough and durable. We make our artwork exclusively out of recycled and repurposed metal and glass. We spend as much time as we can scavenging through antique stores and scrap yards for unique objects ensuring that every piece is unique and impressive.
